Sunflowers

Part 1: Soil Type
Best Soil Type

Sunflowers prefer well-drained, loamy soil that is rich in organic matter. They can also thrive in sandy or clay soils as long as they are well-drained. Sunflowers do not do well in heavy, waterlogged soil as it can cause root rot. A soil pH of 6.0-7.5 is ideal for sunflowers. Adding compost or well-rotted manure to the soil before planting can help improve soil quality and provide nutrients for healthy growth.
