Why was Julius Caesar killed?

The plebeians hated him.

The Republic did not want one person to have too much power, so fearful members of the Roman Senate killed him.

Soldiers the military plotted his overthrow and murder.

Caesar made life much worse in Rome than before he came into power.

The primary reason Julius Caesar was killed was because the Roman Senate feared that he had amassed too much power and was becoming a dictator. They believed that his rule was a threat to the Republic and its democratic principles. As a result, a group of senators, led by Brutus and Cassius, conspired to assassinate him on the Ides of March in 44 BC.
