A telegram is a message sent by telegraphic means, typically using Morse code or other forms of communication using electrical signals. Telegrams were commonly used before the invention of the telephone to quickly transmit messages over long distances. Today, telegram services have largely been replaced by other forms of communication such as email and text messaging.
