The Treaty of Versailles made Germany take the blame for starting World War I. It also made them give back land to other countries and pay lots of money for the damages. The treaty also created the League of Nations, which was a group of countries working together for peace. Some people were happy that the treaty made Germany weaker so they couldn't start another war.
