Stress on the job is a challenging issue for CNA's. You have your stress at home, and when you arrive at work, you are challenged with new stress.

With your job as a CNA, you need to know your skills and duties and know the concepts of your job, but you are physically challenged and mentally challenged in dealing with the elderly and their wide range of issues.

1. What can you do as co-workers (CNA to CNA) to help one another cope with these everyday challenges and lessen the stress on the job.

If you look at athletic teams and what makes them successful, it is not about one individual but the teamwork that occurs. It is what seems to lead to success for those teams.

2. Give some examples from your own participation on a team. (whether it be an athletic team, forensic team, or otherwise).

3. Brainstorm and list ways that team members could make one another feel like they belong.

1. As co-workers, CNAs can support each other by actively listening to each other's concerns and offering emotional support. They can also help each other with tasks, offer to switch shifts when needed, and provide encouragement and positive reinforcement.

2. In my experience playing on a basketball team, we would always cheer each other on during games, give each other constructive feedback during practices, and support each other in times of need. We would also have team bonding activities outside of practice to strengthen our relationships.

3. Ways that team members could make one another feel like they belong include:
- Hosting team building activities or social events outside of work
- Creating a buddy system where each CNA has a designated person to check in on and support
- Encouraging open communication and providing a safe space for sharing feelings and concerns
- Recognizing and celebrating each other's achievements and milestones
- Offering to help out with tasks or covering shifts when needed
- Providing positive feedback and encouragement on a regular basis.
