Presiding officer

A presiding officer is a person who is in charge of leading a meeting, debate, or other formal proceedings. This individual is responsible for maintaining order, ensuring that all participants follow the rules and procedures, and making sure that all voices are heard. The presiding officer typically enforces time limits, calls on speakers, and makes rulings on procedural matters. In some cases, the presiding officer may also have the authority to make final decisions or cast a deciding vote on issues being discussed.
