One example of a time in my life that I have been impacted by the protections of civil rights was when I was attending a peaceful protest against police brutality. During the protest, law enforcement officials attempted to disperse the crowd using force and suppressing our right to peacefully assemble. However, due to the protections of the First Amendment, we were able to challenge this action as a violation of our freedom of speech and assembly.
