1. What does each word mean in regards to World War II?

2. Explain your opinion on whether aggression or appeasement was worse for World War II?

3. WHY do you feel that way?

1. Aggression refers to the act of initiating hostile actions or attacks, while appeasement refers to the act of satisfying the demands of a potentially hostile nation in order to maintain peace.

2. In my opinion, aggression was worse for World War II. The aggressive actions of countries like Germany, Japan, and Italy led to the outbreak of the war and resulted in widespread devastation, loss of life, and suffering.

3. I feel this way because appeasement, while potentially delaying conflict in the short term, ultimately emboldened aggressor nations and allowed them to continue their expansionist policies unchecked. By not standing up to aggression early on, appeasement only served to escalate tensions and ultimately lead to a larger and more destructive conflict.
