What is the difference between reflective waves and refracted waves

Reflective waves occur when a wave hits a boundary between two mediums and reflects back into the original medium. Refracted waves, on the other hand, occur when a wave passes from one medium into another medium and changes direction as a result of the change in the wave's speed. Reflective waves do not change direction, only bounce back, while refracted waves change direction as they pass from one medium to another.
