One prominent advocate of "Black Power" and black separatism was Malcolm X. He believed that black people needed to take control of their political, economic, and social destinies in order to achieve true equality and liberation. Malcolm X advocated for the establishment of separate, autonomous black communities and institutions, as well as self-defense against white supremacy and state violence.
