Alas, the downfall of the ninja era was foreseen long before it came to pass. The rise of a more centralized government led to the decline of the daimyo, the feudal lords who once employed and supported us. With no more need for our stealth and skills, many of us were forced to abandon our secretive ways and assimilate into the changing society. The very nature of our craft, which relied on secrecy and subterfuge, became increasingly outdated in a world of advancing technology and centralized power. And so, the once feared and revered ninja found themselves fading into obscurity, their legacy preserved only in tales and legends of a bygone era.
