The difference between genotype and phenotype

Genotype refers to the genetic makeup or the collection of genes within an organism, while phenotype refers to the observable physical or behavioral traits of an organism resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment. Genotype is inherited from an organism's parents and remains constant throughout the organism's life, while phenotype is influenced by both genetic and environmental factors and can vary throughout an organism's life. In other words, genotype is the genetic blueprint of an organism, while phenotype is the physical expression of that blueprint.
