Smooth mucsle

Smooth muscle is a type of muscle tissue found in the walls of organs, blood vessels, and other structures in the body. It is called smooth muscle because it lacks the striations (stripes) that are characteristic of skeletal and cardiac muscle. Smooth muscle is involuntarily controlled by the autonomic nervous system and is responsible for various functions in the body, such as regulating blood pressure, moving food through the digestive system, and controlling the diameter of blood vessels.
