If an object has 100 joules of potential energy (PE) at the top of a ramp, how much kinetic energy (KE) will there be at the other two locations indicated, half-way down the ramp and at the bottom the ramp?

Responses

B 50J and 0J50J and 0J
C 50J and 100J50J and 100J
D 100J and 50J

C 50J and 100J

At the halfway point down the ramp, there will be equal amounts of potential and kinetic energy, so 50J each. At the bottom of the ramp, all of the potential energy has been converted to kinetic energy, so there will be 100J of kinetic energy.
