The red army won the Russian Civil War primarily due to their strong leadership under Lenin and Trotsky, their effective use of propaganda and military discipline, their control of key industrial and transport centers, and their ability to mobilize the support of the peasantry and workers. Additionally, the white army was plagued by disunity, lack of a coherent strategy, and foreign intervention which further weakened their position.
