What is edge computing

Edge computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings computation and data storage closer to the location where it is needed, which is typically near or at the source of data generation. This is done to reduce latency and improve efficiency by processing data closer to the edge of the network, rather than relying on a centralized data center. Edge computing is often used in IoT (Internet of Things) devices, where data needs to be processed quickly in real-time. It can also improve security and privacy by keeping sensitive data closer to where it is generated, rather than sending it to a central server.
