Three stages note taking methods

1. Outline method: This method involves organizing notes in a hierarchical fashion, with main topics at the top level, subtopics indented underneath, and further details and key points bulleted or numbered under each subtopic. This method helps to visually organize information and shows the relationships between different topics.

2. Cornell method: This method involves dividing your paper into two sections – a narrow column on the left for cues and a larger section on the right for notes. During a lecture or while reading, jot down key points and summaries in the right section, and then generate questions or keywords that correspond to those points in the left section. This method helps to reinforce learning by prompting active recall and review.

3. Mapping method: This method involves creating a visual representation of the information using diagrams, flowcharts, concept maps, or other types of graphic organizers. Start with a central topic or main idea, and branch out with related subtopics, key points, and supporting details. This method helps to illustrate connections between different ideas and can aid in understanding complex relationships or processes.
