The sound of footsteps echoed through the empty hallway, making Jane freeze in her tracks. She listened intently, her heart pounding in her chest as the footsteps drew closer. Panic set in as she realized she was not alone in the decaying house. She turned to run, but a shadowy figure emerged from the darkness, blocking her escape. A chill ran down her spine as she realized she was face to face with a ghostly presence.
The figure reached out a hand, its spectral form flickering in the dim light. Jane's scream echoed through the house as she stumbled backwards, her mind reeling in fear.
