Self-perception theory

Self-perception theory is a psychological theory that suggests individuals come to understand their own attitudes and beliefs by observing their own behavior. According to this theory, people form opinions about themselves by interpreting their own actions.

For example, if a person observes themselves helping others frequently, they may come to believe that they are a helpful and kind person. This theory is often used to explain how people form their self-concept and make sense of their emotions and behaviors. It is also used in social psychology to understand how individuals make attributions about themselves and others.
