Women outnumber men in American colleges and universities

According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics, women have outnumbered men in American colleges and universities since the late 1970s. In the 2019-2020 academic year, women made up about 57% of undergraduate students and 59% of graduate students. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years, with projections showing that the gender gap in higher education will only widen further.
