Bill Bowerman did not create Nike. Nike was founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight on January 25, 1964. Bowerman was a track and field coach at the University of Oregon and Knight was a former student athlete of Bowerman's. Bowerman's innovative ideas and Knight's business acumen helped establish Nike as one of the leading athletic footwear and apparel companies in the world.
