Diez almost died in the desert when he was left behind by his group during a trekking adventure in the desert. He got lost and ran out of water, causing him to become severely dehydrated and disoriented. He collapsed on the hot sand, struggling to stay conscious as the heat took its toll on him. Luckily, he was eventually rescued by a passing tour group and given medical attention just in time to save his life.
