At the beginning of the book, my initial impression of Josh was that he was a talented basketball player who was focused on his game. However, as the novel progresses, I see that Josh is also struggling with family issues, his relationships with his brother and father, and his own emotions. Events such as his father's health scare and the conflict between him and his brother confirmed my opinion that Josh is a complex character with layers of emotions and struggles. These events also showed me that Josh is capable of growth and maturity as he learns to navigate his feelings and relationships.
