The middle class is a group of people who have enough money to live comfortably but are not super rich. They have nice homes, cars, and clothes but they have to work hard to afford them. The middle class started growing in the 19th century when factories were built and more people could get jobs. They are usually teachers, doctors, or office workers. The middle class became bigger in the 20th century with more people able to afford things like vacations and television sets. Today, the middle class is still important in society and many people strive to be a part of it.
