The sun is our most important source of energy. It gives plants the ability to perform photosynthesis and make their own food. The sun provides animals with warmth, boosts our moods, and is essential to all life on Earth. The behavior of the sun’s light is determined by the material or object it comes in contact with.

In 3-5 sentences, write a paragraph that shows your understanding of how light is transmitted, absorbed, and reflected. Provide at least one example of how light is being transmitted, absorbed, and reflected in this picture. The picture is of a duck swimming in the water

Light is transmitted when it passes through a material, such as the water in which the duck is swimming. In this picture, we can see the sunlight penetrating the water and illuminating the duck's surroundings. Light is absorbed when it is taken in by an object, such as the duck's feathers soaking up some of the sunlight to keep it warm. Finally, light is reflected when it bounces off a surface, like how the sun's rays reflect off the water's surface and create a shimmering effect in the image of the duck swimming.
