The topic of how the idea of the monster/supernatural has evolved throughout different time periods and works studied in this course offers a rich area for exploration. To begin, you can consider how the concept of monsters and the supernatural has been portrayed in literature and culture over time. Look at early works, such as Beowulf or The Odyssey, and analyze the types of monsters or supernatural beings that are featured and how they are depicted. Then, move on to more modern works, such as Frankenstein or Dracula, and analyze how the portrayal of monsters and the supernatural has changed.
Additionally, consider how societal beliefs and fears influenced the portrayal of monsters and the supernatural in different time periods. For example, in medieval times, monsters may have represented the unknown or fears of the natural world, while in the Victorian era, monsters may have represented fears of science and technology.
