Make up a change in the biotic factors of your ecosystem. Examples could include: an introduction of an invasive species, a species becoming extinct, a species becoming overpopulated, etc. and make it like a 7th grader did it.
Let's say in our ecosystem, the number of rabbits suddenly started to skyrocket! This would really shake things up because now there are way more rabbits than before. They would eat a lot more plants, which could impact other animals that rely on those plants for food or shelter. The increased number of rabbits could also lead to more competition for resources, like hiding spots or mates. This change in population would definitely have a big effect on our ecosystem!
