It's a two-part assignment.
Part 1 is to find an example of a Digital Design Style in your community, including a photo, and list the characteristics of the style and where they are displayed in your example.
Part 2 is a design project and a short explanation of your design.
1. Use graphic design software to create an original piece of artwork that reflects one of the design styles you have studied in this unit. For this piece, you will create an event program (concert, play, fair, etc) that reflects one of the following design styles:
Deconstructivism
Digital Design
The design should include pertinent information about an event such as the day and time the event takes place, an address, perhaps ticket prices, etc.
2. For the short explanation, write 1-2 paragraphs describing which characteristics of the design style can be seen in your design. Analyze how the historical and aesthetic influences of the time period are reflected in your design.

For my design project, I have chosen to create an event program for a music festival using the Deconstructivist design style. I have incorporated chaotic layout, distressed type, faux textures, and a variety of fonts to create a visually dynamic and unconventional piece. The individual letterforms in shapes and layers add depth and interest to the overall design, capturing the essence of the Deconstructivist style.
In terms of historical and aesthetic influences, the Deconstructivist movement emerged in the late 20th century as a response to the rigid rules of modernism. It sought to challenge traditional design principles and embrace chaos and unpredictability. My design reflects this spirit of rebellion and experimentation, with its unconventional layout and use of distressed textures. Overall, my event program embodies the essence of Deconstructivist design while also pushing the boundaries of traditional graphic design.
