The threshold frequency (fo) is the minimum frequency of a photon required to eject an electron from a material via the photoelectric effect. Below the threshold frequency, no electrons are emitted regardless of the intensity of light. Beyond the threshold frequency, the number of emitted electrons increases with the intensity of light.
