Bina’s Dilemma

By Anewhaa

Bina Patel did not want to go to the birthday party. All the girls who were going thought they were too cool for Bina. They would not make the time to even talk with her. Bina was mumbling in the kitchen when her mother heard her.

“You can take Sid with you,” Mrs. Patel said. “He is in the same class as Sam’s sister. I am sure Mrs. Smith will not mind.”

“I will go, Sis,” Sid said, leaping from the dining chair. “Sam and Troy’s mother makes the best cake. Sorry, Mom. I love your cake, too.”

“Okay. Fine. Get ready,” Bina said in an annoyed voice. “I suppose I can always hang out with you.”

“Yay! I love you, Sissy Missy.” Sid kissed Bina on her cheek and squeezed her before he left the kitchen.

Bina Hates her Dress

“I didn’t know it was at a park,” Bina Patel said. “Did I not read the card?”

“Come on, Kiddo. I will be back at three to pick you up,” Mr. Patel said as he unlocked the car doors.

“Did you know, Sid? Is that why you wore sneakers?” Bina, frustrated, asked her brother.

“You know what, Sam said her mother changed the venue at the last minute because the weather is lovely.” Sid responded.

“I look like a fool in a park with my dress and heels. Papa has left. I want to go home,” Bina spoke, nearly in tears.

“You will be fine. Look! Lola is also wearing a dress. Even Mei. You are okay!” Sid said and hurried to meet his friend Troy.
