Components of a daylight switch
1. Light sensor or photocell: This is the main component that detects ambient light levels and triggers the switch to turn on or off the lights accordingly.
2. Control unit: The control unit processes the signals received from the light sensor and controls the switching of the lights.
3. Timer: Some daylight switches may also have a timer function, allowing users to set specific times for the lights to turn on and off.
4. Relay: The relay is the electrical component that physically opens or closes the circuit to turn the lights on or off.
5. Housing: The housing of the daylight switch encases all the electronic components and provides protection from environmental factors.
6. Wiring terminals: These are the connection points where the wires from the lights and power source are connected to the daylight switch.
