A rhombus is a quadrilateral with all of its sides equal in length and its opposite angles are equal. A square is a special type of rhombus with all of its sides equal in length and all of its angles are right angles.

On the other hand, a rectangle is a quadrilateral with opposite sides that are equal in length and all of its angles are right angles. It is not necessary for all sides to be the same length in a rectangle.
