Franklin D. Roosevelt, often referred to as FDR, was known for being the 32nd President of the United States. He served as president from 1933 to 1945, longer than any other president in history. FDR is best known for his leadership during the Great Depression and World War II, as well as for his implementation of the New Deal, a series of programs and reforms aimed at providing relief, recovery, and reform during the Great Depression. Roosevelt is also known for his fireside chats, which were radio broadcasts in which he communicated directly with the American people.
