The muscle that is stretched to a bone by tendons is the skeletal muscle. Tendons are tough, fibrous bands of connective tissue that connect muscle to bone and allow for movement of the bones when the muscle contracts. When a muscle contracts, it pulls on the tendon, which in turn pulls on the bone to create movement.
