During the Renaissance period, there was a renewed interest in art, literature, and classical learning that had been prevalent in ancient Greece and Rome. This period saw a revival of interest in classical ideals and a focus on humanism, individualism, and scientific inquiry. Artists and scholars looked back to the ancient civilizations for inspiration and incorporated their techniques and styles into their work. This revival of ancient ideas and values led to a rebirth or resurgence of culture and society, hence why it is known as the "rebirth" or Renaissance period.
