Hercules's first exploit as an adult was to kill the Nemean Lion. This lion had golden fur that was impervious to weapons and had been terrorizing the region of Nemea in ancient Greece. Hercules strangled the lion with his bare hands and later used the lion's own sharp claws to skin it and wear its hide as a cloak for protection.
