Plant Adaptations and Reproduction

Survive and reproduce. That should be the motto of all life forms on Earth, including plants. Plants have adaptations which help them to survive and reproduce in the places where they live. Plants are at somewhat of a disadvantage compared to many other life forms because they do not move. They must rely on outside agents to help them be successful when it comes to reproduction.

Pollen, seeds, fruit. All of these plant parts illustrate various adaptations that aid in reproduction and survival of plant species. What is the advantage of the structures seen in image A?

The advantage of the structure seen in image A is that the seeds are lightweight with wings or hairs that help them be carried by the wind over long distances, allowing for dispersal to many areas. This increases the chances of successful reproduction and survival for the plant species.
