Many Native Americans during this time might have felt frustrated, angry, and saddened by the mistreatment they were subjected to. If I were one of the chiefs to whom Chief Joseph was speaking, I would have wholeheartedly agreed with him. His speech highlights the injustices faced by Native Americans, and his call for unity and peaceful coexistence resonates with values that I would also uphold.
