Zeus got frustrated and made a massive storm. He threw lighting at Odysseus, but he is stubborn and antagonized Zeus saying, “you can’t hit me”. That angered Zeus even more.

Odysseus tried to navigate the storm, but he couldn’t pass it no matter how hard he tried. He knew he couldn’t beat the storm, so he tried to stay there until Zeus got tired. Weeks passed and Zeus is not budging. Odysseus’s ship is starting to sink so he decided it was time to do something.

Desperate to save their lives, Odysseus and his crew prayed to Poseidon, the god of the sea and Zeus's brother, for mercy and protection. Moved by their plea, Poseidon intervened and calmed the storm, allowing Odysseus to find refuge on a nearby island. As they reached the safety of the land, exhausted and humbled, Odysseus realized the folly of his arrogance and the consequences of his words. He vowed to show respect and gratitude to the gods from then on, learning the importance of humility and the dangers of pride. With renewed determination, Odysseus and his crew set off once again, their hearts filled with the determination to finally arrive home, knowing that their journey had been both a test of character and a lesson in the power of the gods. Odysseus had learned that in the presence of the gods, it was wiser to temper his words with humility and reverence, for even the mightiest of mortals could not withstand the wrath of the gods.
