As a member of the Georgia Southern Community, inclusive excellence can be defined as the commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive campus environment that values and celebrates the unique perspectives, experiences, and contributions of all individuals. It is not simply about having a diverse community, but also actively working to ensure that everyone feels welcomed, respected, and included.

As a Georgia Southern University student, I strive to ensure our campus environment is inclusive for all by actively participating in and supporting various initiatives, organizations, and programs that promote diversity and inclusivity. This includes attending and organizing events that celebrate different cultures, religions, and identities, such as cultural showcases and awareness weeks. Additionally, I engage in open dialogue and conversations to understand and appreciate the experiences and challenges faced by individuals from different backgrounds. By actively listening, learning, and educating myself on various issues related to diversity and inclusivity, I aim to foster understanding and empathy within our campus community.

One way I incorporate inclusion in my daily life is by seeking out diverse perspectives and opinions. I make a conscious effort to listen to individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives, even if their views may differ from my own. I actively challenge and question my own biases and stereotypes, and try to educate myself on different cultures, religions, and identities. By doing so, I can broaden my understanding of the world and embrace diverse perspectives.

Furthermore, I strive to create an inclusive environment by being mindful of the language I use and the actions I take. I aim to be respectful and considerate towards others, regardless of their background or identity, and avoid perpetuating harmful stereotypes or discriminatory behaviors. Additionally, I actively support and uplift marginalized voices, using my privilege and platform to advocate for equality and justice.

Overall, incorporating inclusion in my daily life requires a conscious effort to be open-minded, empathetic, and supportive of others. By actively engaging in dialogue, challenging my own biases, and promoting understanding and appreciation, I can contribute to a truly inclusive and welcoming campus environment at Georgia Southern University.
