One result of the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 was the temporary setback for Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. The putsch was a failed coup attempt by Hitler and his supporters to seize power in Munich, Germany. Hitler and his associates were arrested and charged with treason. During his trial, Hitler gained national attention for his fervent nationalist and anti-Semitic speeches. Although he was convicted and sentenced to prison, his time in prison allowed him to write and publish his political manifesto, Mein Kampf. This book served as a foundation for his future political ideology and gained him a significant following later on.
