1. Colon (:):
A colon is used to introduce a list, explanation, or example. It can also be used to separate a title and subtitle, and to introduce a quotation or speech in writing.
Example:

2. Semicolon (;):
A semicolon is used to join two closely related independent clauses (complete sentences) in a sentence without using a conjunction. It can also be used to separate items in a list when the items themselves contain commas.
Example:
- I have a meeting at 10 am; I need to prepare the presentation.
- The cities I visited on my trip include New York, New York; Paris, France; and Rome, Italy.
