What are public policies?

Public policies are the decisions, actions, and initiatives pursued by governments and other public institutions to address various social, economic, and political issues. They are the strategies and guidelines created by the government to guide the allocation of resources, shape societal behavior, and achieve specific objectives for the public good. Public policies can cover a range of areas such as healthcare, education, taxation, transportation, environmental regulations, social welfare, and many others. These policies are often formulated through a process that involves research, analysis, consultation with stakeholders, and the enactment of legislation or regulations.
