I personally believe that it was a good decision for the U.S. government to pay artists to create works of art during the Great Depression. This initiative not only provided much-needed employment for artists who were struggling during that time, but it also helped in preserving and promoting creativity and culture. Art has the power to uplift and inspire, offering a means of escape and solace during difficult times. By supporting artists, the government indirectly supported the overall well-being, mental health, and cultural richness of its citizens.
