Define sustainable development goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations (UN) member states in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These goals are designed to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges facing our world in an integrated and holistic manner.

The SDGs aim to end poverty and hunger, promote good health and well-being, achieve quality education, ensure gender equality, provide clean water and sanitation, ensure affordable and clean energy, promote decent work and economic growth, foster industry, innovation, and infrastructure, reduce inequality, ensure sustainable cities and communities, take action on climate change, protect life below water and on land, promote peace, justice, and strong institutions, and strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.

These goals are interconnected and aim to balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental. They provide a blueprint for countries and stakeholders to work together to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
