Subtracting a negative = ?

1) Quotient: In mathematics, the quotient refers to the result obtained when one number is divided by another number. For example, if you divide 10 by 2, the quotient is 5.

Illustration:
10 ÷ 2 = 5
In this case, 5 is the quotient.

2) Dividing Like Bases: When dividing numbers with the same base, it means dividing numbers that have the same primary number or unit. For example, dividing two numbers both measured in meters or dividing two numbers both counted in seconds.

Illustration:
12 meters ÷ 3 meters = 4
In this case, 4 is the quotient.

3) Subtracting a negative = ?: When subtracting a negative number from another number, it is equivalent to adding the positive value of that negative number to the other number.

Illustration:
8 - (-3) = 11
In this case, subtracting a negative 3 from 8 is the same as adding 3 to 8, resulting in 11.
