1. Write an informal letter to your best friend who has moved to another state. Your friend has been gone about a month. You want to bring him/her up to date on what has been happening. You also want to learn how your friend likes the new school and what kind of changes he/she has had to make.

Be sure to include a greeting, 3 or 4 complete sentences, a closing, and a signature.

Dear [Friend's Name],

I hope this letter finds you well and settling into your new state. It's been way too long since we last saw each other, and I wanted to catch you up on all that has been happening here.

Firstly, you won't believe what happened at school last week! Our class went on a field trip to the zoo, and I swear one of the monkeys stole my sandwich right out of my bag! It was the most bizarre and hilarious thing ever.

On a more serious note, I've been missing our late-night movie marathons and pizza parties. Nothing feels quite the same without you here. I've been trying to make new friends, but it's just not the same as having you by my side.

I'm really curious to hear how you're doing at your new school. Are the teachers nice? Have you made any new friends? I know it must be tough to adjust to a new environment, but I believe in you. I can't wait to hear all about your experiences and how you're handling the changes.

Well, that's all for now. I hope we can catch up soon, either through a video call or even better, in person! Stay awesome, my friend, and take care.

Sending you all my love,

[Your Name]
