Sola Gratia
Sola Fide

Selling of Indulgences
Simony

1) Sola Gratia (Grace alone): The Protestant Reformation emphasized the belief that salvation is granted by the grace of God alone and cannot be earned through good works or personal merit. This idea challenged the Catholic Church's teaching that salvation could be obtained through a combination of faith and good works.

2) Sola Fide (Faith alone): The Protestant Reformation stressed the importance of faith in Jesus Christ as the sole means of obtaining salvation. Reformers argued that individuals were justified or made righteous in the eyes of God solely by faith in Christ's atoning sacrifice and not by any human effort.

3) Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone): The Protestant Reformers advocated for the priority of the Bible as the ultimate authority in matters of faith and practice. They criticized the Catholic Church's reliance on tradition and the authority of the Pope, and instead asserted that all Christian doctrine should be based solely on the teachings of the Bible.

Note: While the Selling of Indulgences and Simony were issues and abuses that contributed to the Protestant Reformation, they are not considered the main ideas or theological principles that drove the movement.
