Shorelines can affect weather by creating local wind patterns, known as sea breezes and land breezes, due to the temperature differences between land and water. Additionally, shorelines can also create or enhance thunderstorms and other weather phenomena, as warm, moist air from the ocean can collide with cooler, drier air over the land.
