These body cavities are located as follows:

- Diaphragm: It is a sheet of muscle that separates the thoracic and abdominal cavities. It is located just below the lungs, above the stomach, and below the rib cage.
- Pelvic cavity: It is the lowest part of the abdominal cavity and is located below the abdominal cavity, between the hip bones.
- Ventral body cavity: It is located towards the front of the body and includes both the thoracic and abdominopelvic cavities.
- Abdominopelvic cavity: It is the space that includes both the abdominal and pelvic cavities. It is located in the lower part of the ventral body cavity.
- Dorsal body cavity: It is located towards the back of the body and includes both the cranial and vertebral cavities.
- Vertebral cavity: It is also known as the spinal cavity and is located within the vertebral column (spine). It contains the spinal cord.
- Pleural cavity: It is located within the thoracic cavity and surrounds the lungs.
- Pericardial cavity: It is located within the thoracic cavity and surrounds the heart.
- Cranial cavity: It is located within the dorsal body cavity and houses the brain.
- Thoracic cavity: It is located in the upper part of the ventral body cavity, above the diaphragm. It includes the pleural and pericardial cavities.
- Abdominal cavity: It is located in the lower part of the ventral body cavity, below the diaphragm and above the pelvic cavity. It contains organs such as the stomach, liver, intestines, and kidneys.
